Object Identification Error

Hi All,

I have a typical problem in identifying web objects using UFT 12.

Issue: Objects Identified through Object Spy are throwing error as not able to find the object, after adding it to the Object Repository, even though objects are displayed on the screen. 

Did anyone had experienced this kind of issue. Can anyone help me solving this issue please.

Issues while uft script execution

While running scripts.. App is pega application... For first iteration it's running fine... When next test case i,e 2nd iteration events on objects are not working....
If I pause uft and highlight objects it's getting highlighted.... But thru script it's not getting recognized.... Why?
Any solution...
It's IE 11 win 7 tried in IE 8 same issue

Hey all,
Is there any way to set the value of a single cell in WinListView?
I understand that there is GetItem command to extract the data of a specific cell, but what about injecting updated data into it? I found nothing about that...

UFT(QTP) has difficulties working with the IE

Hi all,
I am using the UFT for testing a WEB application.
I use OS Windows 8.1 & IE 11.
In our company we work with the QTP for years and till last week everything was working well.
Last Thursday, the QTP suddenly had difficulties to recognize the IE, but it does identify some basic elements in the web application.
I have opened the OR (Object Repository) and tried to re-recognizing basic some web elements of the application, but the spy couldn't even identify those objects. In other words,  i have triggered the spy detector to detect new objects and when i was hovering over them, they were not highlighted as they were supposed to.
Moreover, within the object repository tree of objects, some objects turned their icon to a 'question remark - ?' (open the attached file)

Does anyone has any idea how to solve this issue?

Does anyone know how do we connect to Cognos TM1 cube using UFT/QTP/VBScript?
We have a requirement to compare data on UI with data in TM1 cube.

Do we need any special drivers?

QC Environment Input

Would someone help me figure out a best approach to my problem.

 I have a shared login test that all tests call as an existing action. I would now like to update the login test so that I can pass different server environment strings to it so it will be easy to change environments through QC. 

The approach I am trying now is setting test input parameters that will be passed to the call of the existing login action. This allows me to set the parameter on QC. The problem now is implementing this change to all existing tests would require opening each test and setting the input parameter and setting the existing action parameters to use the input parameter for the test.

Substitue of window id

I am writing code for retrieving some data from edit box and using window id as shown in attached snap but some times window id gets changed and scripts fail to run. Please suggest alternative solution.

Local System Monitor

Hi All,

I've one problem with the local system monitor feature.

Actually, I've 600 scripts in my regression pack. In the test machine in which I perform this, many tests are failing due to local system monitor feature enabled.

Now I want to disable this feature. So the procedure I know is opening the individual test and disabling the feature and saving it. But it's so much work for me to do for total 600 tests.

Please suggest a smart way here. Check attached screen shot.

Test Director Errors

Hi, I kick off a daily run using script and the TD connection. The approach used is to execute the test set.
 
I have been encountering the attached issue quite often where it does not execute some tests and the execution status gets set as N/A.
 
What causes this and how can I prevent it from happening?

SAP GUI gets hanged while closing the Windows Pop Up

Hi,

i am using UFT 12.1 to Automate SAP GUI, While downloading file SAP windows trying to open downloaded file . We are created to custom SAP Code to Block the SAP File Downloading.
So during the download file is getting blocked and Message appears in Windows Popup as "Windows cannot find the file" with given file path.
When i try click OK button or close the Windows Dialog with the following code

The Problem is while clicking the OK button in Windows Popup, the windows Dialog is getting closed but the SAP GUI gets hanged .

Please help me to resolve this issue.

It shows as link when I check it with Object spy.
How do I even recognize that object and change the volume.
It is a jquery slider. Like this one.

Using external data source for multiple actions

Hi,

My test requires calling external actions and use the test data from excel spreadsheet. I have been creating single action tests and using the data driven framework by creating Excel.Application object to retrieve the test data from the spreadsheet locally on that particular action.
Now, I want to know if it is possible to drive the test with multiple actions using the test data from the spreadsheet.

Here is how I want to create to test:
My test consists of the following actions.

Action 1: Add Member. (External action)
Action 2 : Modify the member. (non - reusable action)
Action 3 : Verify the actions made in the Action2. (non - reusable action)

And I have the member details and modification details in two different spreadsheets. For every member it adds in the first action it needs to make some modifications in the 2nd action and verify the results in the 3rd action and moves on to the next member.

Please explain how to accomplish this.

ThunderRT6UserControlDC control

I have an application (EPIC healthcare system) that when recording finds many controls as ThunderRT6UserControlDC controls, and some of the controls don't record when clicked.  From what I have found, these are old VB6 controls, but UFT doesn't seem to work well with them.

Anyone have any experience with using UFT with these controls? Is there a way to get it to recoginize these as buttons and textboxes rather than these generic WinObject controls?

I attached a screen shot of one of the controls (it is a button, but not recognized).

We are using UFT 12.01 Build 1112

Inserting variable values into Descriptive Programming Functions

Hello All,
I'm trying to use a general function in my function library to click links.  I used variables to define property values.  The values for the link properties are coming from the same row as my Teststeps in the Excel file from columns IP1 and IP2.  However, when the clickLink function is called the second time it's still using the previous values ie. not pulling values from current Teststep row.

Some columns I could use as identifiers are TSID, Keywords, IP1, IP2

I would really appreciate any help fixing this!
